Ryan’s goal is to guide you on the return to your chosen level of function, sport or performance.  His role as an Aristos Physiotherapist and Individual Design Coach involves developing a journey for you to own and get back to doing what you love.  Following your bespoke individually designed assessment, Ryan will create what he believes is the best individually designed plan for you going forward to reach your end goal - whether that be playing with your children, or competing at an elite level on the competition floor or field.

Ryan’s unique skill set as a Physiotherapist and UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach allows him to deliver this bespoke combination of services to help those in pain or those looking to perform at their highest level.

Ryan worked in professional football as a Physiotherapist at Kilmarnock Football Club in Scotland from 2017-2021. He left his role as First Team Physiotherapist in July 2021 to focus on developing Ayrshire’s premier training and rehab facility as owner of Aristos Physiotherapy and ID.

Here is Ryan’s health and fitness story…

"My introduction to fitness started with the game of Rugby. From starting to play in 1st year of Secondary School, I was fortunate enough to represent Scotland at U17 level. Through that journey, strength and conditioning became a regular part of my training week from age 15. This was my introduction to lifting weights and conditioning work.

Unfortunately, I suffered two back to back ACL injuries through rugby which had to be surgically repaired. This meant a long time away from playing rugby, and a lot of time in the gym trying to maximize my time off the pitch to build muscle for my playing position. I had very little knowledge of training and nutrition at the time, and unfortunately ended up a little heavier than intended.

By the time I stopped playing rugby when I was 21, I had reached over 17 stone in weight and just finished my Physiotherapy degree at Glasgow Caledonian University. At that time, CrossFit had grabbed my attention and I booked a trial session at the local CrossFit gym – then CrossFit Stewarton. Little did I know that one night would lead to where I am today with the now independent gym, Aristos Fitness.

With the help of Robbie, Kirsty and the coaches, I have been able to change my body composition and become the fittest I have ever been. I have had the chance to compete in fitness competitions and now become business partners with two great people – Robbie and Kirsty.

I am excited to see what the future holds with Aristos ID and Aristos Physiotherapy. I am proud to be part of a growing team that is striving to have a significant impact on our local community”

Client Testimonials

“I am 37 years of age and male. I was introduced to Ryan via a friend as I was need of guidance following a mountain bike accident. I sustained multiple fractured ribs, a collapsed left lung, a fractured T12 and sternum. This resulted in hospitalisation for just under three weeks. I then developed a blood clot in the other lung which resulted in another period of hospitalisation.

Prior to my accident I had a reasonable level of fitness, training in my local CrossFit gym and mountain biking throughout the UK. For comparison I was training to rx weights and completing sessions in a reasonable time.

Post accident I lost 3 stone in weight, had to wear a back brace for 2 months, so you can imagine all of the above was no longer possible. Detrimental not only physically but mentally as well. NHS were really good but as anyone who has been in a similar position knows, their goal is not to get you back to fitness pre accident. That’s where Ryan came in.

His knowledge and then additional research he carried out resulted in me now, 16 months post accident, back training normally in my Crossfit gym to just below rx level. I completed the hero wod murph (2 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 press-ups and 300 air squats) in October, 1 year after my crash. I’m back up to maybe 90% strength.

Ryan saw me every 4-6 weeks, built up to sports tissue massage and prepared bespoke training programmes depending upon how I was presenting physically, and what my short to long term goals were. He provided tutorials on the exercises and was always at the end of a phone for advice.

All of this gave me the confidence to push on through and get back to where I am today. Thanks for all your help Ryan.”

“A month has past since my last visit to you.  Physically it is the best I have been for some time.  No doubt your time, advice and your suggested exercises has been the answer  to my pain for which I can't thank you enough. THANK YOU.

PS. We should have met months ago.”
